Materials Used
-
LuxeLacquer in Sunflower Soirée + custom mix with Momma’s Pearls
-
One Step Paint (custom green mix)
-
Duct canvas (for seats and tabletop)
Step 1: Prep the Furniture
-
Clean all surfaces with Clean Slate to remove residue and grime.
-
Remove seat cushions before priming.
-
Sand the frames to create a smooth surface.
-
Wipe again with Clean Slate and a tack cloth.
Step 2: Prime & Paint
-
Apply two thin coats of LuxeLacquer Primer—waiting 24 hours between coats and sanding lightly in between for a smooth finish.
-
Note: Chairs and tables take a lot of wear, so two coats ensure durability.
-
-
Spray LuxeLacquer in your preferred color.
-
Allow ample dry time between coats—24 hours minimum.
-
Final coat should cure for 21 days before heavy use.
Step 3: Hand-Paint the Fabric
-
Use duct canvas to upholster the chair seats and tabletop.
-
Leave a 1" margin around the edges to accommodate shrinkage from paint.
-
-
Mix a loose fabric paint using:
-
2 parts paint
-
2 parts Glazed Over
-
2 parts water
Or paint directly using a 1:1 water-to-paint ratio for a more textured look.
-
-
Paint by rolling, brushing, or dipping fabric in the mixture.
-
Once dry, staple or attach fabric to seat bases.
Step 4: Add Artistic Details
-
Use Gel Art Ink and artist brushes or stencils to add floral or freehand designs to the fabric.
-
Let dry completely.
-
Seal with Mind Your Own Beeswax, applying in circular motions.
-
Once tacky, buff to a soft sheen.
