• Make sure your mould is clean and completely dry

• Place it on a stable, flat surface

• Gather your chosen casting material: WoodCast, CeramiCast, or ResinCast

1. Press or pour your chosen medium (WoodCast, CeramiCast, or ResinCast) into the mould, beginning with the deepest areas and working outward.
2. Gently work the material into every detail to eliminate air pockets and ensure full coverage.

*Important Design Tip for Easy Release:
These moulds were intentionally designed with raised outer edges.

• Do not overfill the mould.
• Keep the raised edges free of casting material by wiping away any excess.

1. Allow your casting to fully set or dry according to the material used.

2. Once dry, gently flex the mould away from the casting, starting at the edges and working inward.

3. Do not pull the piece straight out—let the mould release naturally as it flexes.

For clean, crisp castings:

• Start with a clean, dry mould
• Work the material into the deepest areas first
• Tap gently to remove air bubbles
• Do not overfill—the raised outer edges must stay clean
• Allow the casting to fully dry or cure before removal

This ensures easy demoulding and sharp detail every time.

Set time depends on the depth of the mould. For shallower mould designs, WoodCast typically sets in 4–6 hours. For deeper or more detailed moulds, we recommend allowing it to set overnight for best results.

Amy personally prefers to leave castings overnight whenever possible, especially for deeper moulds, to ensure a clean release and beautifully crisp detail.

The raised rim is an intentional engineering feature. Keeping this rim free of casting material allows the mould to flex properly during release, preventing cracking or stretching of the design.

With proper care, our high-density silicone moulds may be used hundreds of times. They maintain their shape, depth, and detail with repeated casting.

After removing the casting, gently scrape away excess WoodCast with a metal tool. To remove any remaining residue, use a clean cotton rag lightly dampened with acetone to re-activate the WoodCast, making cleanup quick and easy.
