Create Hand-Carved Appliqués in Minutes — No Carving Required.

Shipping calculated at checkout.

WoodCast is a revolutionary moldable wood pulp that lets you create custom appliques, decorative trims, and architectural details that look and behave just like hand-carved wood. Press it into any of our silicone moulds, let it dry, and finish it exactly like real wood. Carve it. Sand it. Paint it. Stain it. Gild it. Antique it.

Every casting releases cleanly from the mould, holds incredible detail, and can be bent around curves before it fully sets. No woodworking tools required. No carving experience needed. Just beautiful, heirloom-quality detail in your hands.

Pair with our Decorative Moulds for instant old world designs, or create your own custom moulds with our Silicone Mold Making Material. New to WoodCast? The WoodCast Beginner Bundle includes three moulds and a workshop video so you can learn the technique directly from Amy and Gene Howard.

Every order includes nitrile gloves, a KN95 mask, and printed instructions.

Seriously. It's this simple.

From Mould to Masterpiece in 4 Steps.

Press it, dry it, attach it, finish it. Real wood detail, no carving experience needed.

Step 1 — Pressing WoodCast moldable wood pulp into a decorative silicone mould wearing gloves
Step 01

Press

Keep WoodCast soft with a touch of acetone, then press it into every detail of your mould, working into corners and deep carving first.

Step 2 — WoodCast casting fully dried and released from a decorative mould showing crisp detail
Step 02

Dry

Let your casting dry fully, typically 4 to 5 hours, overnight for deeper moulds, then gently flex the mould to release it. No shrinking, no cracking.

Step 3 — Finished WoodCast castings ready to attach to furniture and decor
Step 03

Attach

Use wood glue for wood surfaces or a quick-set glue for other materials. Tape in place while it bonds for a seamless, built-in look.

Step 4 — Finished dresser with WoodCast appliques in a European patina finish
Step 04

Finish

Need it to curve around a leg or frame? Microwave your cast for 20 seconds to make it bendable. Then carve, sand, stain, paint, or gild, WoodCast takes every finish like real wood.

WoodCast casting made with Amy Howard Empire decorative mould applied as leaf garland swag on dark wood dresser with metallic bronze finish ★★★★★

"WoodCast is such a unique product! I love being able to create actual wood details for my furniture pieces. I've found it easy to work with, just spread it into the moulds like clay. I typically let them dry overnight and it's so satisfying when you pop them out of the moulds."

— Sheri A. @brasswalnut

Empire Mould

WoodCast rosette applique cast using the Tivoli decorative mould, finished with an antiqued, crackled white patina ★★★★★

"WoodCast was easy to use in this mould. When it fully dried, it was easy to pop out, no problem. I love the old antiqued look."

— Natasha C.

Tivoli Mould

Close-up detail of a WoodCast casting molded into a carousel horse design showing carved texture and dimension ★★★★★

"It performed so well. It popped right out of the mould, and it was easy to sand the edges for a nice smooth casting. I painted and distressed it, and it did all the things that wood does. I am super impressed and definitely going to use this product for other projects!"

— Laurie R.

Thrifted mirror frame embellished with a WoodCast casting from the Alexandria mould, finished with a European patina ★★★★★

"I'm loving the creative process with Amy Howard products! Gave this old thrifted mirror a European dusty rose finish. WoodCast and the Alexandria mould took it to another level."

Woodcast FAQ

Clay shrinks, cracks, and cannot be sanded or carved realistically once dry. WoodCast™ is true wood fiber — it behaves exactly like wood and gives you architectural-quality detail without the fragility or inconsistency of clay.
