To ensure every layer of this finish adheres properly, clean the entire wood side table thoroughly with Clean Slate to remove dirt, wax, oil, and residue. Allow it to dry completely before moving on.

To create the foundation for this finish, apply two thin coats of Weybridge Classic One Step Paint to the entire table, including the top, shelves, sides, and trim. Allow each coat to dry thoroughly.

To cast the laurel wreath detail that defines this finish, mix CeramiCast at a ratio of three parts CeramiCast to one part water until smooth. Pour the mixture into the Laurel Wreath and Alexandria Moulds and allow the castings to dry overnight before carefully unmoulding them.

To build the architectural detail of this piece, arrange the CeramiCast appliqués on the decorative sides of the table. To extend the laurel wreath design, sections from the wreath's bow can be added to each side to create a wider, more substantial bow. Use Thick and Tite Adhesive to attach the appliqués, allow it to dry completely, then paint the appliqués with Weybridge Classic One Step Paint.

To build the aged, weathered texture on the decorative panels, mix Cracked Gesso with water at a 1:1 ratio. Apply the first coat to the decorative side panels only and allow it to dry thoroughly. Apply a second coat using a pouncing application and let it dry completely.

To build depth on the decorative panels, mix Noir Milk Paint with water at a 1:1 ratio and apply two coats over the gessoed panels, allowing each coat to dry. Next, mix Venetian Brown Milk Paint with water at a 1:1 ratio and apply it over the Noir Milk Paint, allowing it to dry completely.

To reveal the layers beneath and create that timeworn stone look, dampen a sea sponge with clean water and dip it lightly into Antiquing Glaze. Blot the sponge over the decorative panels to soften the finish and selectively reveal the layers underneath. Repeat until you achieve your desired aged appearance, then carefully dry the finish with a heat gun, keeping it moving to avoid damage. Allow the surface to cool completely before waxing.

To deepen the aged character of the panels, apply Light Wax and allow it to come to tack. In place of Dust of Ages, use dry Venetian Brown Milk Paint applied with a soft brush, working it into the texture, recessed areas, and details. Allow it to rest for at least 15 minutes, then buff away the excess, leaving more pigment in the crevices.

To bring out the dimension of the cast appliqués, mix a small amount of Mind Your Own Beeswax into Weybridge Classic One Step Paint. With very little paint on your brush, lightly highlight the raised details of the appliqués.

To frame the lighter panels and create definition, mix Noir Milk Paint with water at a 1:1 ratio and apply it to the decorative trim beneath the tabletop, along the shelf edges, and around the base. Allow it to dry completely.

To complete the piece, apply two coats of Scandinavian Grey Milk Paint, mixed 1:1 with water, over the Weybridge Classic base on the tabletop and shelves, allowing each coat to dry completely.

Apply a thin, even coat of Light Wax and let it come to tack, then brush dry Noir Milk Paint over the waxed surfaces, working it into the edges, corners, and natural variations. Allow it to rest for at least 15 minutes, then buff with a soft cloth, leaving slightly more pigment along the edges and in recessed areas.
