Mix cracked gesso the day before: combine 1 part cracked gesso with 1 part water, then mix thoroughly.

Brush the mixture onto the surface and let it dry fully.

Add another coat of cracked gesso, using a pouncing motion with a brush or sea sponge to build texture.

Allow it to dry completely.

Mix Southern Gentleman Milk Paint in a 1:1 ratio with water. Stir well and apply a thin coat.

Let it dry entirely.

Mix Summer Bonfire Milk Paint with Lorie Earth Pigment (1 tsp Summer Bonfire : ½ tsp Lorie Earth).

Brush this rust-influenced mixture onto selected areas where natural oxidation would occur.

Allow it to dry.

Using a sea sponge, dab on Antiquing Glaze, rinsing your sponge with water as you work.

Press glaze into crevices, then wipe back where desired to mimic natural wear.

Let dry completely.

Create a Highlight Wax by mixing ½ tsp Clear Wax with 1 Tbsp Cartouche Green One Step Paint.

Lightly brush or rub colored wax onto raised areas for subtle tonal variation.

Buff once it begins to set if a softer sheen is desired.

Apply cracked gesso sparingly to highlight areas. Note: any areas with wax will naturally resist this coat.

Allow it to dry fully.

Mix 1 tsp Venetian Green Milk Paint with ½ tsp Putting on the Ritz.

Dab this mixture onto the dried gesso to create a soft, weathered, moss-like patina.

Let dry thoroughly.

Brush Dark Wax into the cracked details and textured areas to enhance depth and age.
