Dark and beautiful. For this piece I had to use more than the 16oz can, but I also painted areas that would usually be left plain like the sides and inside of the drawers so it took more. If I wouldn't have a 16oz can could have completed this piece for sure. I ended up using around 20 oz total. It was a 3 coat kind of project too. I loved this color, and so did my son who I had refurbished this desk for. Will be buying more for sure. I have 3 more furniture pieces to go to complete his room.

The can of paint was well packaged and the American Dream color is pretty. It's a bit brighter than it seemed on my laptop, but no worries. I had this ugly outdoor tan side table with a glass top that needed an update. I taped off the glass on the top, but forgot to do the bottom, figuring I could scrape it. The paint went on smoothly and easily and dried quickly. After two coats I started to scrape the glass, but noted that the paint stayed in the lower sections of the pattern, so I went with it and painted the entire glass. When it dried, I scraped the high points and now have an interesting patterned glass top to match the rest of the table. This was a "happy accident" that looks great and makes the table fit with the rest of my outdoor furniture. It rained that evening and the paint was not affected at all. On to the next project!

The color is beautiful . I am in love. I took an old antique furniture and turned it into a beautiful modern classic buffet for my living room. I will be buying more colors to try.

I love how dark it was once it dried.

Love this paint! This is an old glider, and the blue frame really makes the contrast pop.

Really love the paint. Good coverage (needed 2 cans for my china cabinet), lovely smell, sucks receiving so many emails though just because I needed paint.

I bought "American Dream" 2 years ago to paint a sideboard. None of the stores that used to carry it, carry your product anymore, so I ordered on line. It was going to be used to touch up the sideboard. I love Amy Howard chalk paint, however, the color was not even close to the original color. The original color was on the navy side, the color I received is on a bright blue side. Did you change the original color?

Excited to finish bathroom vanity. Have 4 base cabinets and will have a linen closet made that will be painted with American Dream and finished with MYOB. Without natural light in our MasterBath this color is exactly the shade of navy blue desired!

Omg!!! This is the perfect paint for a pseudo artist like me. You can’t mess up with paint. It looks incredible!!!! I love, love, love this product!!!

I love this paint and will definitely be ordering again.

The paint didn't cover in one coat and it was brighter and lighter than what the swatch claims it is. I was looking more for a Navy blue. It's just our coffee bar, I will make it work.

Super easy to use!!

American Dream is a beautiful rich blue. In the can it looks more royal blue but once dry and waxed it deepened and was the rich blue I was looking for. The smell is so wonderful and such a nice change from toxic smelling paints.

The new and improved Amy Howard One Step Paint is amazing! I used “American Dream” on a headboard/footboard combo for my little boys. The coverage was thorough. Two coats and I was done! The paint went on much more smoothly than other chalk paint I’ve used. Thanks to Amy Howard One Step Paint, my kids have a piece of furniture they can enjoy for years to come!

Happy with results, but learned what NOT to do the hard way...
My 400 grit sandpaper scratched my fabric. So used a cuticle brush for roughing up second coat of paint.
Had trouble with the Mind Your Own Beeswax—the upholstered material really grabbed onto it, it was impossible to put on “lightly and smoothly” with a cloth. Left my chair looking white and ruined. I tried to scrub it off with a wet towel, and that pulled off some of the paint. Realized I couldn’t touch up the paint because now there was wax on it. So now I have spots with the old color popping through. On someone’s blog, they said to dilute the wax with mineral spirits before applying—not sure why this isn’t a standard practice. Then I used just mineral spirits to work into The wax coating on the fabric, and I was able to fix it. Wished this was a trick told, but of all the painted videos I watched, only one had mentioned this. I feel like it ruined my paint job on the chair.
