I’m easing my way back into art and crafting and I thought these would be a great place to start. I wanted to try Amy‘s “grungy“ finish. For these corbels, I started with a light sand, then two coats of One Step A Good Man is Hard to Find, sanding lightly between each coat. Then added my first coat of Cracked Patina, which I probably put on too thick, but it worked out OK (I wanted to see a lot of that dark, moody gray below the subsequent paint coats). I then sanded and added a coat of Atelier, followed by another light sanding, another coat of Cracked Patina, and a final coat of One Step Bauhaus Buff. I let everything dry overnight and then sanded lightly again and put on a coat of Light Antiquing Wax. I was going to use Dust of Ages as my final treatment but during the last sanding, I noticed a very light green tinge on the Bauhaus Buff surface, and realized I grabbed a sanding block that I used to sand Luxe Lacquer in Lemon Lime Zest. Was actually pleased with the color transference; it reminded me of the colors in Amy’s Willy Guhl tutorial.
