To give this finish its warm foundation, apply two thin coats of Massey Hill One Step Paint to the exterior of the lantern, allowing each coat to dry thoroughly. This base layer will peek through in later steps.

To begin building the fractured texture, shake Cracked Patina well and pour a small amount into a separate container. Brush one even coat over the painted exterior and allow it to dry thoroughly until the surface appears shiny and is no longer sticky.

Working in small sections, apply Almond Daze One Step Paint over the dried Cracked Patina. As the paint begins to crack, gently manipulate it with a clean, dry brush or your hands to create movement and irregular areas of wear. Aim for natural variation rather than uniform cracks, then allow it to dry thoroughly.

To build another layer of fractured texture, apply another coat of Cracked Patina over the Almond Daze layer. Allow it to dry completely until shiny and no longer sticky

To bring this finish to its final, weathered state, brush on Light Wax and allow it to come to tack. Follow with Dark Wax, concentrating on areas where age, dirt, and dust naturally accumulate, along seams, beneath edges, around the door, corners, and architectural transitions. Allow the wax to come to tack, then buff as desired. Enjoy the bragging rights. You have absolutely earned them.
