Inspiration

Inspired by the handcrafted relief panels found throughout Florence and the Tuscan countryside, the Firenze Relief Finish brings the beauty of European decorative arts into your home. This finish blends sculptural WoodCast details with textured Cracked Gesso, luminous mica glazes, and soft layers of Milk Paint to create depth, movement, and an authentically aged Old World feel. Whether you're creating framed art, decorative panels, or bespoke home décor, this technique captures the romance of antique European craftsmanship.

Firenze Relief Finish Inspired by Classic European Plasterwork

About This Finish

The Firenze Relief Finish is a dimensional decorative art technique that recreates the look of antique European relief panels. This method uses Amy Howard at Home products such as WoodCast, Silicone Molds, Cracked Gesso, Glazed Over, Mica Powders, Milk Paint, Matte Sealer, and waxes to build depth through sculpted appliqués, textured surfaces, metallic glazing, and soft layers of patinated color. The finish develops rich texture, warm undertones, delicate cracking, and luminous highlights that mimic centuries-old craftsmanship. Ideal for framed artwork, gallery walls, and custom home décor, the Firenze Relief Finish offers a high-end, handcrafted look that enhances any interior space.
