Layering Tuscany In The Summer Milk Paint builds the warm golden undertones at the heart of this finish. Mix 1:1 with water and apply two coats, allowing each to dry fully before applying the next. This warm, sun-warmed tone is the layer that gives the finish its distinctly French and Provençal warmth.

Applying a second Cracked Gesso layer adds the organic surface variation that makes this finish feel genuinely aged. Using a sea sponge, pounce the Cracked Gesso mixture over the entire surface to create irregular, varied texture. Allow to dry thoroughly before continuing.

Mix 1:1 with water and apply one coat, allowing it to crack naturally as it dries. Adding Amalfi Coast Milk Paint for soft blue accent detail brings the sun-washed blue trim quality that defines this finish and references the cool tones of Swedish Gustavian painted furniture.

Mix 2 parts Amalfi Coast with 1 part Scandinavian Gray and equal parts water. Apply to accent details and mouldings using a fine detail brush. Once dry, gently soften using 0000 steel wool for a smooth, refined finish on the raised elements.

Using Light Wax and Dark Wax for a deeply aged Provence patina seals the finish while adding warmth and dimension. Apply Light Wax over the entire piece and allow to reach a tack. Then apply Dark Wax into the recesses and carvings to build depth and shadow. Allow to come to a tack before the final step.

Applying Dust of Ages for a powdery aged European finish is the final step that ties everything together. Apply over the waxed surface and use a clean lint-free cloth to gently dust back the excess, leaving it settled into the cracks and texture.
