This is a perfect blue. You can add Scandinavian Gray to make it softer or add A Southern Gentleman to dark and bring more depth. It’s my go to color.
I used 1 part Almalfi Coast, 1 part Venetian Green and 2 parts Strasbourg White milk paint to create this colour for my paper towel holder. I gave it two coats. Finished with matt sealer and light wax. I used a bird Stencil with silver chalk art and the brown chalk art paint equal quantities mixed together. The milk paint was easy to apply with a foam brush. Dried in approximately 30 minutes.
I started this project in January after receiving the e-mail in December for the multi-layer antique finish. Before this project my experience was only with the multi-step paint and the stain, which I love Amy Howard's stains, so this was a nice step up. I wanted to do the multi-layer antique look but I wanted to use a modern stain color. Also I love the contrast of using bright paint colors over a dark stain. This is definitely the style I will always have with my multi-layer antique pieces in the future, just different color combinations. In this piece I used the grey stain, then the cracked Jesso, topped with Almafi Coast Milk Paint. I absolutely love the color I didn't really want to mix it with another color, I like to show the contrast of dark and bright on the same piece, this is my particular preference and style. I am sharing a collage photo as the blue looks much lighter at night under a fluorescent light than it does during the day under natural sunlight. This took me a long time as I was working on this dresser in between semesters of my Masters Degree Program. Replaying the video for instruction I and seeing my finished project I can't help but wonder if my story will be more like Amy's. I am looking forward to my next piece, I already know what color combo I will be doing next. I still have to apply the wax and dust of ages and I did take a before photo, so once this dresser is completely finished and hardware put back on I will be posting to the before and after page. Or in the dust of ages or wax reviews. I am looking forward to this being 100% complete and accompanying the story of this dresser and its travels with it. I absolutely love how this turned out and I can't tell you how good it feels to bring something I envisioned to life.

Used Amalfi Coast, Venetian Green milk paints along with cracked gesso & antiquing liquid to revive this mirror from my mom’s garage. Finished it with light wax and added highlights with various colors of gilding wax. Love the results but definitely had to trust Amy Howard’s process ...
I used all three products for the first time on this one piece. It turned out great and I love It. I think I need some more instruction on using gesso and antiquing glaze. I couldn’t get it to crack!
My favorite Toscana Milk Paint! It gives a beautiful finish. The intensity of the color can be toned down by adding a small amount of Noir TMP.
Beautiful finish This was not my first experience with milk paint and yes, it is harder to mix/work with than a pre-mixed paint. (I made it the night before and it was quite hard on the bottom the next day, difficult to dredge up and re-mix. I suggest mixing and straining day of use instead.) But the coverage and resulting finish, using the antiquing glaze and waxes was gorgeous. I mixed with gray and applied over several base colors on different projects. My favorite was over black -really beautiful finish!
